After a hip movie date with Derek, Jason joins us to go over all our thoughts about Spidey's new adventure! We spoil everything from the get go so make sure you go out and see it! We get into Quentin Beck, the fun of the high school romp, MJs expanded character, and who's on Derek's lawn now!

Just in time for this year's SDCC, we have a very special guest on the podcast that we've been meaning to talk to for awhile - Tony Kim of Crazy 4 Comic Con and the Hero Within apparel company! We're not done with ATX 2019 just quite yet, in face we've kind of saved the best for last: Derek was once again invited to talk to the people behind two great shows - 'Perpetual Grace, LTD' and 'Grown-ish'! I assume there's going to be some Grown-ish spoilers so we time-stamped them for you here:
Perpetual Grace, LTD
Grown-ish
It's been a week since Derek has made his return from the scorching heat of Austin, Texas where he spent another year mingling with actors, actresses, writers, producers, and TV fans! That's right, another ATX Television Festival has come and gone and as always, Derek was lucky to attend, and spend some time with our first friend of the podcast Dominick Dusseault! Dominick talks about what it was like to work the Fest as a professional photographer, which panels were his favorites to cover, and Derek gets into all the new pilots he saw and which ones he was really excited for!
Make sure you check out Dominick's photos at www.TheGeekLens.com!

Well mostly just the Asian movies he's watched lately. It's our one year anniversary, which also means its time for another E3! With Sony not attending this year's conference how's everyone going to step up to full the void? Will this be Microsoft's year? Our fellow GHG gamers, Patrick and Sarah Obloy join us to go over all the major conferences and the games from all the other publishers and developers that are going to be at this year's show! Moody also gives us his review of Rage 2!
After eight long seasons Game of Thrones has finally come to an end, and somehow we barely have talked about it on our podcast. Well we end that on this episode where we talk about THE ENTIRE SERIES in an epic review of unprecedented proportions. To help us unravel this epic fantasy tale, Ana Mendoza from the PopPrismPower Podcast, and Song of Ice and Fire book reader, joins us as we get into the divisive final season and series finale as she successfully convinces Myke to read the books. Derek talks about his impressions of his binge of the series, and we all get into what could have happened and how we felt about what did happen.

Listen to us go over our picks while discussing what our post-Endgame movie future holds. Find out what blockbuster animated franchise Myke completely forgot about, how much hope Albert has for the Aladdin movie, and what movies Jiaming wants to torture us with if he wins our special bet.

Dread it. Run from it. 150 episodes came all the same. What better way to celebrate this milestone than a movie 11 years in the making technically, but really something we've kind of been waiting for all of our lives! In order to celebrate with us, and to gush IN FULL SPOILER MODE we have a murderer's row of past heroes: Dana Keels, Eva Ceja, and Travis Moody! WARNING: we get into the movie RIGHT OFF THE BAT - there is no safety here for those of you who haven't seen it! We get into what we liked, what we LOVED, and what we enjoyed. We tried to nitpick but it never quite added up to how much we just wanted to heap praise on this movie.
Follow our lovely guests @evaceja, @hatandwand, and @travmoody!

While Myke was stuck in Washington DC helping out the Strategic Homeland Division take on the Black Tusk, Travis went out to Boston in real life for a bunch of things, but especially PAX East! He compares it to E3, talks about seeing a band play Devil May Cry music, and of course they get into it about all the video game news of April and what they've been playing! They get into Division 2, Devil May Cry, and then close it all off with Mortal Kombat 11!
When we first talked to Reime Schemes on our 85th episode, we instantly were charmed by the unique journey that led him to being a hip hop artist on the verge of releasing his first record. One drop and four music videos later, we caught up with him in what seems like a pivotal moment in his career. We talk to him about how he's been touring the world, embracing his mixed race background, and how he's finding a newer audience through the internet. Myke also pitches him some business ideas and he takes us through the making of his new music and the music for his new single "Thief Ah Whine".
Listen to his new song on Reime Schemes' Soundcloud, and check out his video on YouTube! Follow him on Instagram @ReimeSchemes for news about any upcoming shows!
The DC Boys are back in town just in tome to bring their magic to our drunken double feature! James and DJ from MetaSquid Studios shows Jamesflix and Gamesters Pair of Dice hit the podcast hot, like a bolt of lightning, as we talk about the two non-Marvel comic book movies that are coming out this season. For those of you not keeping score that means we're going to quickly give our overall, non-spoiler thoughts on the new Hellboy THEN we get into the boy-wizard extraordinnaire himself: Shazam! Not only is it a full spoiler review of Shazam, it's a drunken review as well SO OF COURSE we also talk about a bunch of other stuff other than the movies. Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Fantastic Four, ninja movies, some inappropriate coming of age "firsts", and tons more.
Make sure you subscribe to MetaSquid Studios on whatever you listen to your podcasts, and follow on twitter @GamestersDice!
Good news, bad news members of the Geekdom. Bad news is that Myke wasn't able to be part of this episode because he was too sick to attend this year's Wondercon. Good news is Derek was joined by two of our favorite friends of the show / podcast extraordinaires in their own right: Tyler McPhail of the Grand Geek Gathering and Albert Patrick from Who What Wheres Why! Tyler talks about his panels and we all talked about all the cosplayers this year, especially compared to SDCC and LA Comic Con. Albert and Derek then talk about the panels they went to including Dark Phoenix, Deadly Class, and Into the Badlands.
Make sure to find Albert https://www.whowhatwhereswhy.com/
and listen to Tyler's shows at https://www.thegrandgeekgathering.com/
We have what might be our first triple feature movie discussion podcast this week as Captain Marvel has already flown into our lives, Us has made us afraid of Santa Cruz, and we're about to hear DC say the magic word -- Shazam! We have two of our own Captain Marvels joining us, producer, actors, and pop culture personality extraordinaires Lance Paul and Jasan Avalos on panel to discuss three of the biggest movies that are coming out this season.
First Lance gives us his early, rough impressions of Shazam - the hero formerly known in the comics as Captain Marvel. Then we talk about the current, MCU newcomer and title owner, Captain Marvel and then we finish with a light spoiler free discussion of Us!
Follow Lance @thetravelingnerd and follow Jason @JasonAvalos and find out about all their cool film, and otherwise, projects coming out!
Damian Holbrook, one of our favorite con panel moderators, TV Guide Network hosts, TV Insider writers, and TCA Board members, returns to the podcast just in time to help you set your DVRs for the upcoming year. We talk to him about the 2019 TCAs, the big television press tour for the Television Critics Association where networks, streaming channels, and premium cable channels show off what they've got going on! He dishes about the best panels, the new shows he's excited for, "journalists" that ask terrible questions, George Clooney overshadowing an entire A-List TV cast, and more!
Follow Damian on Twitter @damianholbrook and check out his coverage on TV Insider!
When we originally pitched this episode to Ryan we had thought it would be about trashing this trainwreck of on an Oscar ceremony - suffice to say we were kind of wrong. We still had to bring our favorite movie critic and journalist, Ryan Scott, on to talk about the 2019 Oscars! We get into how the ceremony actually went pretty well, how this year felt different, the surprises of the night, what we thought was snubbed for nominations in general, and how why there might have been a ratings jump!
Follow Ryan at @ryanscottwrites on Twitter and check out his great reviews and articles!
The Geekdom Gamescast is a monthly video game bonus episode in collaboration with God Hates Geeks hosted by Myke and GHG's own Travis Moody.
We had so much to say about our main subject of this episode that we ended up breaking it apart to stand on its own - and it is worth it for our guest, Adam Bower's expertise in looter shooters alone. That's right, we have GHG's resident Destiny expert on to talk about the newest, and biggest, looter shooter to come out this quarter - Bioware's ANTHEM. Before we take off in our Javelin's we do talk about Apex Legends and the Division 2 beta a little as well.
If you've heard our previous episode with our returning guest, Albert Patrick, then you know that we weren't going to spend only one hour to cover two months worth of movies that are coming out because he'll probably watch more movies than any of us combined this year! That doesn't mean that we won't have TONS to say about the movies we're excited for, though. It's a brisk, yet meaty block of movie previews for the months of March and April of 2019! Joining Albert is one of the new hosts of his Stuff & Junk Show - Jiaming Liou! Through the course of the episode you'll hear how Jiaming and Albert are basically the bizarro-world Myke and Derek and how that's a recipe for GREAT TIMES.

After our month long hiatus, we're back and just in time especially with there big a TON of new releases and news to talk about, both gaming and personal! We get into the new developments in our lives, and why we took a month off, then get into what we've been playing, some news, and the games we are looking forward to that have a confirmed release date in 2019! All that and Artez Bailey returns to talk to us about Kingdom Hearts III!
Even before we could get our first movie preview episode of the season out, a big movie dropped! Listeners will know how excited Derek was for this movie, so you know that if we did an episode on Bohemian Rhapsody then of course we were going to do a review of ALITA! Did it live up to his expectations? What happens when Robert Rodriguez gets a TITANIC budget? How anime did Myke feel it was? WE Motor Ball our way into it all! NOTE: This is HALF a spoiler review episode, the back half is spoilers and we will give you substantial warning!
Now that we're finally going to start to get the goods of 2019 we take one last look back at our year in movies and TV. While we did episode reviews on a lot of our favorite movies, there were a lot that we caught up on or missed for one reason or another. We also got to finally talk about the TV we watched!
With the Big Game around the corner and the NBA mid season right behind it we decided to have another big panel discussion. Producer Myke joins Robert and Derek as they welcome friend of the show and longtime Fancast guest Dana Keels on to talk about the two semi-finals NFL games and the upcoming NBA All Star draft!
It was kind of a weird year for the Golden Globes. Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg aren't that obvious of a hosting pair, a promo girl for Fiji stole the red carpet, and A Star is Born only came away with one award for the night. Our buddy Greg Mucino joins us to break down what feels like a weird award season. Also Myke updates everyone on his injury and surgery.
